Everyday, I wear two very important pieces of jewelry.
The first of these is my wedding ring. Sure, it's significant because of what it is innately. But beyond the significance of it being a wedding band and holding characteristics of value, it is my grandfather's wedding ring.
My mom's dad (my grandfather) passed away when I was only three years old. I have no actual memories of him in my life due to how young I was yet some old pictures certainly capture the joyous lives that we lived in his presence. It is for this reason that I feel so honored to wear the ring that he wore for so many decades.
The second object of importance is a bracelet which belonged to my grandmother, also on my mom's side. My grandmother passed only a little over a year ago now and was an important part of my family dynamic for many years. Despite struggling with dementia, she was a joy to have in our lives as she lived with my parents and siblings for several years before her passing.
Why do I mention these things?
We all bring important objects which are passed down from generations or have other important details that we bring to a wedding which are significant for the stories they hold for us in our hearts. These become some of the precious details captured in our wedding photos.
You should feel confident in bringing objects important to you into your big day. Several ideas for incorporating such things is to integrate them into a bouquet, place them around the reception, wear important jewelry, etc.
It doesn't matter to us or anyone else how this is manifested for your day. Just make sure that what is important to you is included!
