You might be thinking that all of this wedding planning non-sense is over stimulating and quite frankly too much.  And honestly, you'd be right!
But here's the thing... All of this planning is for a greater purpose. It's so that your wedding day itself is completely planned out and prepared in advance so that nothing, almost nothing, is left to the imagination!
Sure, there will be hiccups that come and go throughout your day. You might be an hour behind at one moment, or have something like your cake show up late to your reception (Grace and I experienced this one first hand), but with correct management of expectations, your day will be wonderful!
So where does your photographer fall into all of this?
There are a range of approaches for your wedding day ranging in involvement. On the lowest end of the scale we have a documentary or photojournalist style of wedding photography. On the other end of the spectrum, we have the traditional and classic styles of photography which focus on formal, posed shots of you, your families, and the wedding party.
Surveys from wedding planning platforms such as the Knot.com typically show that couples increasingly value the candid style for its ability to capture the essence and spontaneity of the day. Around 60-70% of couples express a preference for a blend of candid and posed shots, with an emphasis on candid moments.
Many polls and industry reports also suggest that the trend is moving towards a documentary approach. Couples appreciate the less intrusive nature of candid photography and the personal touch it adds to their wedding memories.
Regardless of where you are at in regards to style of photography, you can trust that your photographer will take great care to understand your wants and needs before your big day. This way the details are on them and communication is done clearly beforehand making your day go as smoothly as possible!
