It’s very important for the purposes of this blog that you understand my own context of studying architecture in college. This has to do with design.
As I have gotten more invested into photography and art in general over the years, I find that the opportunity to not only take photos but also to edit them leaves me fulfilled in a mission of expressing value.
What do you mean, Michael?
Well, every photo taken has some kind of information or message being expressed. Perhaps those photos of a field of dandelions in the dentist’s office are meant to bring us feelings of relaxation. Or maybe that photo on the billboard is to give us confidence in a product or brand.
When we look at wedding photography, we see the value proposition. Photographers across the globe are trying to communicate how they can provide you with value during your wedding day. This comes across in many ways including the delivery of photos in a timely manner, the number of photos captured in some cases, the style of photographic approach, the experience making someone qualified to work with you, and so many other factors.
The point here is that photographers, just like any other wedding vendor, provide you with value for a price. Catholic photographers bring a set of skills and a knowledge base of the Catholic Mass which can be extremely beneficial in making sure that your day is captured the way that you want it to be.
Take, for instance, the consecration at the Mass. The chances are that you have probably seen a photo before of this. Have you ever asked yourself what makes it a great photo? It could be color, hierarchy, or even the actual editing style of the photo. Maybe the priest, altar, and chalice or host seems more colorful than the rest of the image. Maybe it’s a grayscale photo with emphasis on the moment as a whole.
Regardless, there is something special about every photo, especially on a wedding day. Brides and grooms work together to find a photographer who they believe captures the essence of the wedding day they envision. Make sure you find that photographer or team of photographers who you think will give you the best memories to hold onto, weeks and even years after your special day.
Afterall, the value of a photographer is far beyond the hundreds or thousands of dollars you will spend. The value of a photographer is priceless memories, irreplaceable and unable to be replicated in the future.
